Roles in Roger

Overview

  • Roger has three personas available: Shipper, Carrier, and Driver
  • Each persona may have sub-roles available

As a Roger user, I would like to understand the different roles available under each persona, so that I can better manage my users and interact with other Roger users.

This guide will walk through the personas, their available sub-roles, and their functionalities.

 

Shipper Carrier Driver

Shipper: Shippers access the platform via web only and work with Carriers and Drivers.

1. Shipper Users: The most common type of user in a shipper account. This user will have access to the majority of the day-to-day operations.

Primary Tasks:

  • Can create loads within Hauls or Interchange
  • Can Dispatch loads
  • Re-dispatch loads
  • Approve loads
  • View & Open Loads
  • Edit/process submitted loads
  • Return loads to Carriers
  • Pay (Post to Accounting)
  • Full Functionality in Interchange

2. Administrator: Admins have all the same functionalities as Shipper Users but also act as administrators of the account.

Primary Tasks:

  • Add & Edit users to the account.
  • Sever Connections with a Carrier
  • Can create loads within Hauls or Interchange
  • Can Dispatch loads
  • Re-dispatch loads
  • Approve loads
  • View & Open Loads
  • Edit/process submitted loads.
  • Return loads to Carriers
  • Pay (Post to Accounting)
  • Full Functionality in Interchange

3. Hauls Restricted Access: These are specialized users that can view load information but have restricted access to modifying load information.

Primary Tasks:

  • Approve loads
  • View open loads
  • Edit a limited number of fields including internal notes, return messages, and origin/destination scale ticket numbers
  • Return Loads to Carriers
  • Pay (Post to Accounting)

4. Compliance Admin: Access is limited to the Roger compliance product — onRamp.

Primary Tasks:

  • Approve or Decline Carrier Connections
  • View, manage and provide overrides for onRamp tasks
